The Gate Lodge

The Gate Lodge is a spacious, comfortable 2 bedroom single storey property set in the grounds of Westerns Farm with its many interesting and friendly animals. It has recently undergone renovations and redecoration and is extremely well equipped. Ample parking for at least 2 cars directly beside the property and has its own private and secure back garden which is adjacent to one of the paddocks where there is generally always a couple of woolly neighbours! All towels are provided as well as a supply of beach towels for those hot sunny days down by the sea! There are stunning views from all windows in the Gate Lodge.

Westerns Farm is set in the heart of East Sussex in a designated area of outstanding natural beauty. Just an hour from London this part of the country has a wonderful mix of landscapes to explore and an endless list of attractions to cater for all tastes. There are many stunning bridle paths, public footpaths and the very popular Cuckoo Trail suitable for horse-riding, walking, cycling and dogs. We can arrange cycle hire from the farm. If you like fishing there are many fishing lakes within a short drive to include the excellent Lakedown Trout Fishery set up and run by Roger Daltry. The Gate Lodge is surrounded by a number of golf courses all of which have competitive daily rates and for those serious golfers, the famous East Sussex National Golf and Country Spa Resort. We are within easy reach from many beautiful beaches to include Eastbourne, Hastings, Bexhill On Sea and Pevensey to name a few. Nearby Bedgebury Park is a days’ fun for all the family with cycling and woodland walks but also plays host to what is claimed to be the UK’s No 1 Tree Top Adventure named ‘Go Ape’! Eating out is a pleasure with many fine restaurants and bistro pubs close by to suit every appetite. The farm is within walking distance of the small town of Heathfield with it’s many interesting shops which are a delight to wander around and the beautiful village of Mayfield is approximately 3 miles away or for those who love a more intence shopping experience we have Royal Tunbridge Wells only 30 minutes drive away.
