Built out of the bedrock Fell View in the Lake District was once an old workshop, converted to a home by my grandfather - John Holmes. Occupying a raised position overlooking the main village street, Fell view is one of the first properties seen as you enter the valley proper. A great house for get-togethers, having a large lounge/dining room and long oak dining table, used for many a family Christmas. The kitchen is well appointed and in years gone by was the only room I was allowed in as the living room was off limits except on special occasions, life was lived around the kitchen table. One of the highlights of this house is the garden that offers great views into the village and the surrounding fells. A great place to sit and watch the world pass by.
