Heron Lodge, is a stunning contemporary lodge in the heart of the Cotswolds Waterpark. It has been designed with a glass frontage allowing uninterrupted views across the lake, creating a wonderful sense of airiness, space and light in the house – a feeling of being close to nature. The large deck stretching over the water is brilliant for spotting wildlife or just relaxing with your book. There is nothing quite like watching the sun go down over the lake with a glass of something special in hand ! And if the weather is unkind you can watch the lake change from the comfort of your own sofa. As a family we love to watch the grebe family diving and swimming underwater and often enjoy family meals out on the deck. The accommodation comprises of three ensuite bedrooms, one double and two twins , a utility and large lounge/kitchen area. A decked balcony adjoins the master bedroom.

Heron Lodge, Watersedge is located within the Cotswold Waterpark, about four miles south of Cirencester. Made up of almost 150 lakes and covering an area of 40 square miles, the Waterpark provides magnificent wildlife habitats and a wide variety of leisure activities. There is plenty to do within minutes of the lodge, so you or the children will never be bored!. The Gateway Visitor Centre with Coots Cafe and The Old Boathouse gastro pub are within walking distance. Next door is The Four Pillars Hotel that hosts Spa 6. Here you will find a truly tranquil setting with spa facilities and a full range of beauty treatments. Both the next door villages of South Cerney and Cerney Wick have traditional pubs which serve food. For a special meal we enjoy The Bell at Sapperton ( 24 minutes drive). If you are looking for a more active holiday you can explore the local area on a network of paths. A map can be obtained from The Gateway Centre with footpaths , cycle and canal towpaths clearly marked. For water sports within the park head to South Cerney Outdoor Education Centre, they offer courses in various watersport's. Take your clubs if you're a keen golfer, there's is an 18 hole Pay and Play Golf course with a driving range in South Cerney. The town of Cirencester is 12 minutes drive away. It has all the necessary shops , services , regular markets and places to eat . There are many historic buildings spanning several centuries and lots of places to visit such as the Corinium Roman Museum , Brewery Arts Centre and Cirencester Park. The Festival of Arts takes place every June.
